People are intrigued by our company name, almost without exception the first questions they ask are ‘What do Dancing Leopards do? Or ‘What on earth is Dancing Leopards??’
We chose the name for a few different reasons:
- We believe people CAN change their ‘spots’, despite the age-old saying that leopards can’t change theirs!
- We believe that a large part of coaching’s strength is about dancing in the moment – for both the client and the coach. By being open to ‘the moment’ we can tap into our creativity and inspiration, our answers and solutions, and be fully present to possibilities.
- Leopards are creatures of power, elegance, grace and focus; when they are at rest, they are at rest, while also fully present, observing possibilities, and ready to move when the moment is right.
We also chose the name because it reflects our fundamental values of humanity, integrity, curiosity, focus and fun, all of which are necessary ingredients for generating successful outcomes.
Finally, leopards are on the list of endangered species. By drawing attention to this, we like to think we are taking even a small step to raising awareness of this, and help to do something to prevent the demise of this wonderful creature.
